Sorry to see this trilogy come to an end ...

This is the third and final book in this stand alone trilogy. I loved every part of this series from start to finish. There's an evil witch, highlanders in kilts, time travel, romance, and danger. There's more I haven't mentioned but if you like highland time travel this is a series you won't want to miss.

A fitting Conclusion

I can't believe I nearly missed the conclusion to the MacCoinnich Time Travel Series! I just had no idea it had been released but I'm so glad I snatched it up in the nick of time! So many times, I encounter series' where one or a few books don't hold the same type of magic that the first had, and I'm pleased to say, this is not one of them! The three books in the series, Binding Vows, Silent Vows and now Redeeming Vows, read as a seamless piece of work, where characters stay true to the first time we encounter them and if changes do occur, they still remain true to character. This book finally tells the story of Tara's sister (from Binding Vows) Liz and Duncan's brother (also from Binding Vows) Fin. The two first encounter each other in Silent Vows and I remember being drawn to them from the very start! The chemistry between these two were intense in the beginning and remain that way.

Supporting characters in Redeeming Vows also have such strong personalities that I'd love to read more about them. Including Liz's son Simon, and the youngest MacCoinnich's, Cian and Amber. There is an art to being drawn to characters who don't take center stage in a book and Ms.Bybee definitely knows that art form well. From first encountering Fin in Binding Vows and then being introduced to Liz in Silent Vows, I have always wanted to see their story unfold, either separate or together, the same goes for the younger cast members in Redeeming vows. I feel they each would have interesting stories to tell.

I'm trying not to give away too much, but this conclusion in the series has one final story with Grianna who has been the constant villain since we first encountered her in Binding Vows. Character powers unfold more in depth. This book has an incredible amount of action and of course romance that keeps you wanting to know what's going to happen next. This was definitely a fitting conclusion and Catherine Bybee, I'm dying to read more of your work!

Fast paced, moving and funny, too

This was the last book in the trilogy and I enjoyed it as much as the other two. The characters are likable and the plot really moves. There were times the story tugged at my heartstrings and other times I laughed out loud. ("What do you feed that thing?!" LOL) Same as the first two... a solid four stars.

Great info

Great book, great method, lots of insights and jokes from the author.

I feel very hesitant to say this, but I feel the need to alert others. I'm not sure I gained anything from reading this book that I hadn't already extracted from a handful of internet articles. Look at T-Nation's write-up of this book. It has -all- of the basic ideas that you need to start your own 5/3/1/ program. This book is really a glorified article as I read it in one sitting. Also, a quarter of the book is a redundant FAQ section and some testimonials.

To emphasize the highlights of the book, the section on the different 5/3/1/ programs (big but boring, triumvirate, etc) are clearly presented and easy to compare. Also, the accessory exercise section I haven't seen anywhere around the net. He breaks his philosophy down really well here. I should also add that Wendler's humor makes the book move right along.

The bottom line is that for me, I'm not sure $10 is such a good deal. Had it been $5 or so, I would have been happier with my purchase.

Do you even Lift? Buy this book.

I've been following Wendler 5/3/1 for over a year now, after an 8+ year from any type of exercise. I have a background in strength training, but I had gotten lazy and time crunched. I wanted a program that was easy to follow with minimal pre-planning on my end.

Wendler 5/3/1 is easy, but having at least some prior strength training knowledge would be better.

On this program I've lost 40 lb. with another 40 to go. My strength has gone way up. I'm 36 yr/old 6'1 305 (walking around) I currently bench press 320 lb. Military press 200 lb. Squat 350 and Deadlift 435 lb. I'm still steadily getting stronger.

If you're looking for a really good program to follow, then this is a great one to use. The program is centered around the 4 Big Lifts and assistance work. Once you have your 4 Big Lifts down, you can go a couple of different directions with the assistance work. There's great tips for if you're pressed for time, or busting plateaus.

Jim Wendler's other book Beyond 5/3/1 will be my next purchase to drop the other 40 lb. and get to my goal of a 405 bench press.

Great for anyone looking to GET STRONG

Love this book, it is a simple, progressive program which is well written and funny. I have been using Microsoft excel to track my workouts for a while and the author provides the formulas to create a spreadsheet to automatically calculate your % 1RM for the workouts. Also has a great section on exercise form with some tips that helped my squat increase just by tightening my form up. No nonsense approach to building long term strength!

If any advantage can be fairly obtained over us, in consequence of this trifling discrepancy, we must submit. There is one point, notwithstanding, concerning which it may be well to be frank at once. The narrative of the “Voyage to Cathay,” has been written with the journal of the Admiral before us; or, rather with all of that journal, that has been given to the world through the agency of a very incompetent and meagre editor. Nothing is plainer than the general fact that this person did not always understand his author, and in one particular circumstance he has written so obscurely, as not a little to embarrass even a novelist, whose functions naturally include an entire familiarity with the thoughts, emotions, characters, and, occasionally, with the unknown fates of the subjects of his pen. The nautical day formerly commenced at meridian, and with all our native ingenuity and high professional prerogatives we have not been able to discover whether the editor of the journal has adopted that mode of counting time, or whether he has condescended to use the more vulgar and irrational practice of landsmen. It is our opinion, however, that in the spirit of impartiality which becomes an historian, he has adopted both. This little peculiarity might possibly embarrass a superficial critic; but accurate critics being so very common, we feel no concern on this head, well knowing that they will be much more apt to wink at these minor inconsistencies, than to pass over an error of the press, or a comma with a broken tail. As we wish to live on good terms with this useful class of our fellow-creatures, we have directed the printers to mis-spell some eight or ten words for their convenience, and to save them from head-aches, have honestly stated this principal difficulty ourselves.

Whistler has a special place in my heart. My husband and I visited just before the Olympic games in 2010 and fell in love with the atmosphere and, of course, the scenery. That visit, plus my own experience working in the hotel industry, prompted me to write this gentle romance.

Sweet and gentle; Enjoy with hot chocolate close by.

Morgan Dempsey has always wanted to work in the hotel business. Acceptance in the concierge training program of a boutique hotel chain means she's closer than ever to her dream. Morgan's disappointment is tempered by her attraction to Rob - a `bad boy' ski instructor. Will she fall under Rob's spell, or will she and Adrian discover that they have more in common than their love of hotels?

A short but very sweet romance story.

If you're looking for a book full of sexual scenes, then this book is not for you. But...if you like very slow building sweet love stories, this is a great read. I like reading both, and I thoroughly loved this book. This is a very sweet and clean love story between to different couples, who happen to meet in a ski resort town. There are a few pitfalls along the way to keep it very interesting, but nothing really major.

Would I recommend this book? Yes, I certainly would.

A typical love story

This book tried so hard to be above average. It had plot twists, and a love triangle, it had compelling supporting characters. Sounds like a great book.... but the characters just couldnt pull it off. Morgan was a litte too naive to be believable. Adrian was too normal to have such a tramatic experience in his past. An experience that he jusy 'decides' to get over. It wasnt a bad book it just wasnt great. A fine read for a winters snowy day by the fireplace.

I like the copy of this book that I have. However, I think the old version of the Cassell's Dictionary (not the newer hideous orange one) might be more useful, as it has English-Latin, and probably does not have much fewer Latin-English entries than this book.

In the preparation of the notes the editions of Hussey and Reading, containing Valesius’ and Reading’s annotations, were freely used. Whenever a note was taken bodily from these, it has been quoted and duly credited. It was thought best, however, usually to condense and reduce the number and bulk of these notes and introduce sparingly such new notes as were suggested by more recent study in ecclesiastical history

Two nice teasers

This free amazon book contains the opening parts of "The Kidnapping" and "The Night Ranger." It is an excellent way for writers to introduce their books to the public and for readers to decide if they find the story sufficiently enticing that they want to pay for the entire volume and read it. The kidnapping is about four Americans, two men and two women, and an African who are driving in Africa. The Americans came to Africa to help its people. Unfortunately, the land is filled with robbers and people who want to kidnap foreigners for profit. The Americans are somewhat juvenile in their behavior; their African driver is more mature. We are told that they will be kidnapped, someone will die, people will come to try to find them, and there will be difficulties. The parts we are shown are fairly long - it would take about 45 minutes to an hour to read them - and we have sufficient character development to learn about the people.

The premise here is disturbingly believable. Four American college students volunteering in Kenya for WorldCares are taken by Somali bandits into "the heart of darkness." Berenson's short story, "The Kidnapping," rich in characterization, crisp dialogue, and tension, provides the reason that ex-CIA agent John Wells leaves the comforts of his life in New Hampshire for his latest adventure in THE NIGHT RANGER. This preview even offers a tantalizing glimpse into the fate of two of those kidnapped. Who survives? How will Wells save the others? How will this experience change him? This short story reminds the reader just how good Berenson is at what he does. Berenson's seventh novel will be available on February 12th, and I expect that it will provide another excellent read.

Another please!!

This could have easily been another formulaic novel about pirates and kidnapping in Africa....it is NOT. Mr. Berenson takes the time to portray the meaning of the old adage 'there are two sides to every story.' You have to catch yourself when you realize you are empathizing with the young pirate and despising one of the kidnapped characters. It also highlights the naivete of many who feel that they are immune from danger and evil simply because they are there to do 'good things and help out'.

Can Cullen protect Grace from her past? No doubt, but is he willing to do whatever it takes to keep her alive? Cullen has decisions to make. To protect Grace in the present and give her a future, he has to let go of his past. Nonetheless, he is not sure he can let the ghost of Morgan go.

3rd Book in McKinnon Legend Series just keeps me salivating for more!

If possible I would give this book a 4.5 - only because of my preference for time travel books to take place previous centuries verses current times. However, I understand that this was necessary since this is the 3rd in the series, Cullen's story and as Cullen (not being a time traveler) is trapped in present day and thus cannot travel back to his birth century in the 1400's. I LOVED the first two books in the series - and they set the stage wonderfully for this 3rd book. If you like time travel romance novels DO NOT miss this series. Although lacking the historical depth of the Outlander series these books still pack the romantic mystical punch. In my reviews I won't waste your time with recapping the story - I believe the author gives you the necessary taste of the novel. Instead I will tell you that right now there is no better bargain (at 99 cents) for a delightful escapism from staid reality than jumping on these initial 3 books in an 8 book series! Thank you Ranay James. Keep writing and this fan will keep reading.

The McKinnon Legends series is a great read.

Loved the way I became involved in the lives of the McKinnon Clan and their struggles.

Thought the story lines were very good and kept me wanting to read more.

The only thing that I didn't like was the typo's - not many but there were some in the Kindle version.
