About the Author
Rosemary Clair holds her Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication from the University of Georgia. After college, she worked in medical sales for several years before turning to writing full time. While honeymooning in Ireland, she was first introduced to the mysterious land and superstitious ways of the locals. Both intrigued her immediately. Back on American soil, she began researching Irish myths, the lore and fables passed down through generations, and the idea for Heir of Earth began to take shape. Writing is definitely a labor of love for Rosemary. While typing away on her latest project occupies most of her day, when the sun is shining, the outdoors call to her. On those beautiful, southern afternoons she sneaks away to the barn to get a little inspiration from her beloved horse, Asscher. Rosemary lives in Athens, Georgia with her husband and one very pampered pooch.

Great New Series!!

Wow...I definitely discovered a gem in this book! I had a bit of difficulty rating this book because part of me wanted to only give it 4 stars, but I went with 5 because I truly loved this novel. However, there was one big problem I had with this book, so I would actually have given it 4.5 stars if I could. Anyway, this book was amazing. I loved the whole concept of it. This novel is unique, original, and amazingly detailed. You can easily tell that Ms. Clair put a lot of effort into crafting the world of Sidhe, and making it her own. I loved the mix of mythology, and Ms. Clair crafts it in an expert way that allows the reader to enjoy a brand new kind of supernatural world and have no idea what to expect next. The writing was great as well. Everything is very detailed and descriptive. I could see the lush, Irish rolling hills, the cliff-sides, everything. The whole book just came alive, and it created a beautiful story.
The characters were just as amazing. Faye is a very likeable main character. She is easily relatable, and is faced with what she terms a "handicap." This handicap isn't what you expect, but she copes with it the best way she can imagine, by pushing everyone away. At first, I wasn't sure I was going to like her because she was very timid and meek. However, once she actually arrives in Ireland and is with her Aunt and Uncle (well, actually they're her cousins, but that's a whole other story), she comes alive in a way that I was never expecting. She undergoes a transformation that was brilliant (and brilliantly written), and Faye becomes a stronger, more outgoing girl. As soon as I read this, I knew Faye would be a character I would love. Dayne is beyond words. His character, while mysterious and aloof at first (and who doesn't love those types of characters), quickly becomes entangled in Faye's life, and you will love every single scene he is in. Both the reader and Faye quickly become aware that something strange is going on with him, and while I did figure it out easy enough, it was still interesting to learn his secret and everything that went along with it. I am claiming Dayne as mine right now, so watch out girls haha! He is so romantic and sweet, and he is willing to go to any length to keep Faye safe from his world. Faye is definitely one lucky girl. The secondary characters were also full of life and excitement. Even though they aren't the focus of the novel, I loved all of them. They truly had their own personalities, and added a great depth to the story that is not usually found in secondary characters. I loved Rose, Phin, and April! They were awesome and just plain hilarious.
Throughout the entire novel you know something major is going to happen. There is a dark and dangerous character that is briefly mentioned in key scenes, and comes into play much later in the book. The story is shrouded in mystery, and it keeps the reader hooked till the very end. And then, by the end, you will be so desperate for the next book you want it immediately.
So what was the problem? The beginning. I felt that it dragged a bit at times. It was still great, and I was interested, but there were parts that could have easily been cut out, and the story wouldn't have been affected (besides the fact that it would have been shorter). I kept wanting Faye to smarten up and figure out what was up with Dayne because honestly, it was glaringly obvious-even if you didn't read the description of the book.
Nevertheless, I am eagerly anticipating the next in this series, and book 2 can't come out soon enough. After everything is revealed, quite shockingly I might add (the scene was amazingly written), the story moves quickly and the pages fly by. You never want to stop reading, and will be left breathless with all of the twists and turns. I highly recommend this to anyone who likes Irish mythology (Sidhe, fairies, etc), and anyone who is looking for a great read. Yes, it is a bit long, but don't let that worry you. It just gives you more of the story to love! Happy reading :)

Spellbinding

This is the becoming of Faye Kent. She starts out as this little mouse of a girl and ends up being a strong force of force of Nature. She has secrets that good her back until she meets Dayne who has secrets of his own. They are drawn to each other. Together they discover a bond. It seems the world is against them and things fall apart. That is where the next book will start off.
I enjoyed reading this book. The characters were well written and the story moved slow but it kept your interest. The most vivid part was the description of Ireland. I have never been there but the war it was described made me feel like I was there. My only complaint was the editing. There were a few misspelled words and some grammatical errors. It didn't detract from the story it was just a little distracting. If you like a good paranormal story with good characters and a beautiful setting you will be in for a treat when you read this one.

the book is an entertaining snapshot of some aspects of Irish folk lore. However the protagonist (Faye) is driven completely by her emotional impulses. I don''t think she makes a rational evaluation of her situation throughout the book. the rest of the time she spends an inordinate amount of time crying as her emotions swing from happy to the depths of despair. I should hope this depiction is not emblematic of the emotional state of a significant percentage of teenage girls.
