More Trouble for Lexie and Stone

Lexie Starr and Stone Van Patten are busily getting their B&B up to snuff, when one of their very first guests is murdered. Fast-paced and funny, this book is an excellent addition to the Lexie Starr series by Jeanne Glidewell. Lexie gets into more mischief than she can safely handle as she struggles to find out who murdered the president of the local historical society. Fun, fast-paced and funny, this book is highly recommended.

Bright and Funny Lexi Starr mystery series

I love the Lexie Starr series. This is the second in series, The Extinguished Guest, has Lexie and Stone (her romance interest) owning an old inn and running it as a bed & breakfast. Unfortunately, one of the important first guests expires at the beginning of the opening. Lexie and Stone both investigate the death. Their reasons for why they'd get involved is a bit farfetched, but their antics continue to amuse the reader. The support characters are as intriguing as the mystery. Her amateur sleuthing is at times hilarious with occasional mistakes that become part of her method. Lexie gets herself into some tight fixes and getting out is often even harder. The mystery is fast-paced easy read. It has just the right balance of mystery and humor with a dash of romance. A highly recommended read for cozy lovers.

No waiting for this one...

There it is, in the first sentence - someone is dead. It leaves the whole book to discover the clues to the person who died and the person who killed him. The story has lots of fun with Lexie wrangling her way into situations - situations that take a lot of work to get into and even more to get out of. Good to see the return of favorite characters who try to keep Lexie safe - even if it is against her own will. You can't help rooting for the good guys - and sometimes we need that.
