Moon rocks

Good story idea. Something is off with the emotional development of the characters. SPOILER a child is lost and none of the characters act upset. Someone dies and its "wow. Sorry. That's so awful." There are personality quorks that make you like the charaters but the human response that makes you empathize with characters is not in place.

Enjoyable Monster Thriller

Loved the real life idea behind this book. Moon rocks gone missing and suddenly there is a horrible monster running around killing people. We all know that some moon rocks really have gone missing...
Likeable characters make this a quick read. If you read enough horror, you can predict who is gonna live and who is gonna die pretty easily. But in the meantime, it's fun reading, waiting to see who runs into the monster next.
The low Kindle price make this a worthwhile purchase. I'll be checking out some of this authors other stories.

Saturday Matinee style monster romp. Great fun!

Great monster romp based on an original idea that is fun if taken at face value. What if some of the rocks that we have brought back from the moon contained the eggs of really big nasty ferocious venom dripping lizard-like homocidal and HUNGRY creatures that would hatch years later and terrorize the world?--or maybe just an isolated mine in Texas, but you get the drift.
Cue the screaming Saturday matinee children.
How did the embryos survive all of these years? Don't know. Don't care. How did these eggs get on the moon and why did we find no evidence of adult specimens? Don't know. Don't care. Why do all aliens look like lizards? Stop. Just stop.
Seriously, Bryan Dunn did a good job with this one. First off, it is well written in a B-movie style. Secondly, confining the action to a small area (mostly an abandoned cave and mine) and focusing more on suspense than relentless bloodshed helped ratchet up the tension and kept the story well contained and enjoyable. Consider this an homage to those great creature feature movies we loved as kids, blast through this in an afternoon or evening, and have a good time doing it.
