Not really very good

I got this book for free (thank Heavens) because it is not worth the current $6. Started out okay - predictable, but okay. Then went downhill - first a group including a lawyer, social worker and mysterious military trained civilian decide to go find the bad guy because (as usual in books like this) the cops don't care. Farfetched, at best, but still okay. Then it gets worse.
***SPOILER ALERT*** (but not really because you'll figure it out very early on)
Second - the whole group (all 4 of them, folks, including the highly trained guy) get captured by 2 inbred, dumb-ass, hillbilly brothers who, between them, don't have even half a brain.
Third - the lead character's long-dead abusive husband reappears as the ringleader of the whole mess (surprise??? - could see that one coming a mile away after the early-on "the hospital lost his body, but I know he's dead")
Fourth - crazy ex-husband holds her hostage. The Keystone Kops allow military guy to go in (thereby giving him 2 hostages who he plans to kill) and they know he plans to kill them - might even be doing so as they stand around outside. Come on, tear gas at this point might be the way to go rather than just wait around for something to happen.
Fifth - the old he's dead but then jumps up to try and kill her (enough said).
Finally, throw in a ton of unanswered questions - ex-husband says he had help from someone close to her to set her up, but never says who and we never find out who. After he trys to strangle her after she stabs him "dead" the scene ends where she is blacking out and hears the cops (finally) come in. Did he really die this time? Personally, I'd make damn sure and stick around for the funeral - even checking the coffin as it's being lowered into the grave. Is she planning to write a sequal? Will crazy (and uninteresting) ex-husband make another appearance? Honestly, don't care enough to wait to find out, but did feel a bit cheated that I sloughed through the whole book just to be left with questions.

worst book ever read

Decent plot almost, dialogue was forced, awkward and rudely stupid. Characters unbelievable and lame. Editing needed, many areas where things were repeated again in the next paragraph,very confusing.

This book was horrible. I hate to say that because I have read a bunch of crummy books I have enjoyed, but there is nothing redeemable about this book. Sorry.
