I loved getting to know more about Nathan Miller's two children, 5 year-old Emma and her brother. You can feel the sizzle between Nathan and Abby and now add in a spunky 5 year old who has been influenced by her English babysitter. It makes you want to keep on reading! I am sorry I am so late posting Amish Author Sicily Yoder - I am writing a review for your last two books- they were so good I read them both- one right after the other. I loved the school teacher who wanted to help the two children- but the father thought it best for the teacher not to give him extra help. And his little girl was even trained to do everything she could to turn the teacher against her dad. But then the little girl wanted her Dad to marry her babysitter. The teacher stuck it out- I thought it was a very cute- sweet and innocent story!!!! Amish Author Sicily Yoder at her very best!!! definetly five star books!!!

Good Sory but WHAT Happened to the Ending?

I liked the first book so I immediately downloaded the second. The misspellings & grammatical errors bugged me, but I was willing to overlook them because I figure everyone deserves a chance right?? Can someone explain to me WHAT exactly happened with the ending??

*SPOILER ALERT* It's like it was at the peak - a possible nail biting - "OMG!!!!" moment & then all of a sudden....Epilogue. Epilogue? EPILOGUE?! Ummm....did something happen during the download to my kindle & I missed a few pages of the story? So....yeah....really NOT happy with how things ended - because they didn't end. They stopped. Not sure I'll continue with the series. I felt the 2nd Book was identical to the first Book (Stranger moves to town with unknown past, falls for town person & just as everything is going great...the Ex shows up. Sound familiar??) Should I be surprised that it just ended then? No I guess not - but I HATE it when authors spend so much time writing the details of the friggin town, restaurant, pond, house & color of FREAKING CLOTHES the people are wearing but doesn't bother to write a proper ending.

OK...that's my review. On to the next author I suppose...

Wanted to love it, but...

I have been following the Pride seris and since the first book with Todd & Megan was so likeable, I wanted to know what would happen with the rest of the Jordan Siblings.

My problem with this book was the way in which it was written. I felt disconnected from the characters because it felt as though the author was describing the events occurring in the book, instead of allowing the reader to be part of the book.

For example, I didn't like the way time moved in this book. The author would describe weeks having lapsed, but we don't get a feel for what occurred in those weeks. Another example is at the Christmas party. It's like everything happens inside the characters head, and we are only given that pov, instead of actually being at the party while it's happening.

Maybe my explanation isn't clear, but overall I felt it was an effort to finish the book. Maybe the editing needs to be looked at more closely, I noticed some editing mistakes in this book that I didn't pick up in the previous one.

Hoping the rest of the series gets better,

Ms. Sanders has a great potential as an author. I definitely liked the plot although I got bogged down by the misspellings and some grammatical concerns that need to be addressed. Please review this some more.

About the Author

Jon Stobart is Professor of History at the University of Northampton. His current research focuses on the history of shopping, leisure and consumption, in both urban and rural contexts. He has also published widely on urban space, urban and regional identity and the industrial revolution.

Andrew Hann is a Research Fellow at the University of Greenwich and County Editor of the Victoria County History of Kent. His research interests include the history of retailing and consumption, urban and industrial change and the writing of community histories.

Victoria Morgan gained her doctorate at the University of Coventry where she was a Researcher in Historical Geography. She now works as a barrister in London and maintains a strong interest in eighteenth-century urban development and local history.

Very Good Mystery

Lexie Starr discovers that her new son-in-law may have killed his first wife. She starts to investigate his past life by driving from Kansas to Schenectady, NY. Lexie stays in a Bed & Breakfast run by an eccentric elderly woman named Harriet, who owns a foul mouthed parrot. Harriet is a fun character and ends up helping Lexie in her investigation. Lexie meets a new friend, Stone Van Patten, a jeweler from South Carolina, who also helps her in her effort to find out the truth about her son-in-law. Lexie will do anything to find the truth and protect her daughter, her only child, who has no idea that her husband may be a killer and that she may be next on his list.

This is an exciting book and leaves you surprised at the ending. It is well written and the different locations make for an interesting read. I am anxiously awaiting the next Lexie Starr book in this series.

Good start of a Cozy mystery series

The initial interest in Leave No Stone Unturned was that Lexie worked in a library as a volunteer. I could relate to her work and the fact that she was from the Midwest - Kansas. The story shows a female character willing and capable of taking action to research her son-in-law's involvement in his first wife's death. Lexie travels from her home to Schenectady, NY to investigate. All of Ms. Glidewell's characters are unique, even including the pet parrot with the foul mouth. Her antics were often a bit "off the wall" but mostly humorous. The mystery kept my interest throughout the book. The amateur sleuth even has time for a bit of middle age romance with someone who may be "the man of her dreams". I definitely recommend this cozy to those who like a bit of humor, romance, and eccentric characters with their mystery. I did thoroughly enjoy Ms. Glidewell's writing style. I am looking forward to the rest of the series.

Fun Mystery!

I just loved this book! A mother searches for her daughter, stays at a B&B run by the most wonderful landlady in the world, meets the man of her dreams (maybe), and follows tons of twists and turns. I enjoyed every word.
